Serovskaya GRES of OGK-2
Serovskaya GRES (regional power station) is located in the north of the Sverdlovsk region and is one of the first power stations in the Urals fully transformed from the old generation type to a new one. In late 2015, new generating unit No. 9 was put into operation, replacing outdated inefficient equipment in the coal unit of Serovskaya GRES built in 1950s. Currently, its primary fuel is natural gas and its backup fuel is diesel. In January 2018, the station’s worn-out capacities were fully decommissioned. In 2018, the generating unit’s capacity rose to 451MW following an upgrade.
As part of dismantling of the decommissioned 1st stage (coal unit), upgrade and renewal of communication networks, computing facilities and automatic equipment, Bricks IT performed a set of operations to relocate and reroute networks (FOCL, telephone lines, structured cabling system), relocate existing equipment, perform its renewal and upgrade, start up and commission new communication network equipment, SOTI ASSO (system of technological data exchange with system operator’s automated system) and LAN.
The work was performed in several stages:
1. Construction & installation and testing of new cable communication lines.
2. Preparation, programming and set-up of new equipment (АТС Avaya, Intron-D conference circuit, conference communications, alert system, server and cross-connect hardware).
3. Disconnection, dismantling of old equipment, relocation of existing equipment and its integration with new communication, dispatching and automation equipment. The work was performed subject to tight deadlines without interruption of or effect on the Customer’s technological process.
